Home Learning 18-2-22
BackBelow are some activities that we suggest the children in Year 1 complete tomorrow whilst the school is closed.
We hope you find them quite straight forward. Feel free to adjust them to meet your circumstances.
Maths.
The children have been using the language long/ short/ longer than/ shorter than this week. We have been comparing the lengths of objects and have started measuring them with non standard units. Could you support your child in completing the attached measuring activity (- using lego, duplo, wooden building blocks etc)- watch out for the trick questions at the end!
Writing.
We carried out a science investigation this week on the best conditions to melt ice. The children were very clear on all the different stages- from predicting, carrying out the investigations and considering the results.
Please could:
Barn Owl class- complete the Instruction writing sheet.
Badger class- complete the Results sheet.
Maybe you would like to carry out a similar investigation at home?
Phonics.
Write out the following words for your child to read.
Should, Where, Again, Two
Ask your child to spell and write these words:
Market, Coin, Torch, Popcorn.
Dictated sentence.
The plums are not ripe yet.
