Welcome to Year 2
The Year 2 team are delighted to welcome you and your child to Rabbit and Squirrel class, as they move towards the end of their learning journey with us at Oldfield Park Infants School. We are here to support your children in any way possible, as we work together with you as parents, enabling your child to flourish and reach their full potential. What Makes a Hero Or a Villain?
This term the children will be comparing characters within Traditional Tales. In English our key text will be The Three Little Wolves & The Big Bad Pig by Eugene Trivizas.
In Maths the children will be looking at Addition and Subtraction - two digit and single digit numbers and Multiplication.
In Science the children will be looking at and comparing a range of materials such as paper, wood, platic and metal. The children will test a range of materials to see if they can change and if these changes are reversible or irreversible.

Victorian Life - Was it nasty or nice?
This term the children will be learning about famous Victorians and comparing life in the Victorian times to modern day. In English our key text will be Vlad and The Florence Nightingale Adventures, Little People Big Dreams - Florence Nightingale, You Wouldn't Want To Be A Victorian Schoolchild and Ada Twist Scientist.
In Maths the children will be looking at Multiplication, Shape and Division. The children will be practising skip counting in 2's, 5's, 10's and learning to skip count in 3's.
This term in Science the children will learn about being healthy. They will recap on the basic needs of animals including humans for survival - water, food and air. They will also learn about the importance of exercise, eating the right amounts of different food groups and learn about hygiene and why this is important.
