Sports Day 2018

Sports Day took place in the penultimate week of the year. Inspite of the dry and hot conditions we managed very well to have some great races. Well done to everyone who took part including pre-schoolers and parents! Thank you to the junior school for letting us use their field, the Y6 children for their help and Miss Capetti for all her organisation.

Y2 Footballers win!

On Wednesday (yes, the same day England played their semi final v Croatia) Y2 were invited to Moorlands for a football match against the children who go to their after school football club. We didn’t even have a team but managed to find a few children willing to play! We had a very good welcome and a really friendly game. Amazingly we went 3-0 up before half time. Clearly their coach did a brilliant half time talk as the Moorlands team came back to 3-3. And then, with moments to go, a shot by Ben deflected off their defender straight to Noah to popped in the winner. 4-3 to us. Two goals from Ben and two from Noah. Well done everyone, Mr Caswell the team coach,  Archie, Ben, Billy, Charlee, Cyrus, India, Joseph, Marni, Noah, Olly, Reuben and Wilf.

Forest School Campfire Cooking

This week we are having a theme week based on the topic of farms. During the mornings the children in whole school are trying out a range of farm based activities in mixed year groups classes. While in the Y2 classes children are learning about how we get flour and then using it to make campfire bread. In the afternoon it is time to cook it and sing songs around the campfire. It tasted lovely when we smothered it in raspberry jam!
